Plans for the first phase of Telford's £250m Southwater development have been approved.
A multi-screen cinema, hotel, seven pubs, restaurants, bars and a car park were among the proposals.
Telford & Wrekin Council's approval this week means about 250 jobs are set to be created.
A planning application for the second phase of the development has also been submitted and those plans are currently on public display in Telford Library.
Planners said they were still looking for feedback on these proposals for a community building called The Hub and public spaces around Southwater.
Council leader Kuldip Sahota said: "Our plans for Southwater will result in Telford town centre having a vibrant beating heart as well as a safe, secure and attractive evening economy."
Building work for the first phase of the development is expected to be completed within three years.
