Revamped leisure centre to open in Wellington

A Shropshire leisure centre is set to reopen to the public after a year-long £8.5m revamp.

The facilities in Wellington include a new changing area, a modernised gym and new equipment.

They form part of the new Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre which opens its doors on Monday.

The centre will include a library, containing 19 computers, and a register office which will open on 2 April, Telford and Wrekin Council said.

The opening of the centre was delayed by about two months because of initial problems with its electrics system.
