Shrewsbury hosts first marathon to be run by 1,000

A Shropshire town hosts its first marathon.
Ten elite runners led the way in the event in Shrewsbury, which started at 09:00 BST.
About 1,000 people were expected to line up for the full race with about 2,000 taking part in the half-marathon, which started 30 minutes later.
Drivers were warned about possible congestion in and around the town as all town centre roads were shut from 07:00 BST.
