Newport swimming pool revamp set to start
- Published
Work is due to start next month on the construction of a fitness facility at a swimming pool site.
Newport pool in Shropshire will be closed to the public from late October and is set to reopen at the beginning of January.
The new health and fitness facility, including up to 50 workout stations, will also open then.
Telford & Wrekin Council said it would contact pool users to discuss where to swim during the closure.
It appointed contractor Pryce Builders to deliver the £1m scheme, which includes refurbishing the pool changing rooms and extending the existing building to create the new fitness facility.
