Work is set to start to make a railway station fully accessible for the first time with the construction of a new lift.

It will be added to an existing footbridge at Ludlow station in Shropshire.

The building work was set to be completed by autumn 2024, said Network Rail.

Accessibility improvements would also be made to five other stations in the area, it said.

All six stations will remain open to passengers during the work but parking will be reduced at some stations.
