Plans put forward for Shropshire veterinary school
- Published
Plans have been put forward for a university building to teach future vets.
Harper Adams University is proposing the teaching building on the edge of the Ni.Park development off the A518 Audley Avenue roundabout in Newport.
The building, which would hold a maximum of 200 students, would contain two technical laboratories, a seminar room and a social learning space.
Comments can be made on the plans until 14 December.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service said the university claimed the building would provide them with the specialist pathology facilities required to deliver its veterinary school curriculum.
Harper Adams University said that although the maximum capacity would be for 200 students it would typically cater for about 60 students on a daily basis rising to 160 students on days "at peak capacity".
The plans include car parking spaces and 32 bicycle spaces in a secure shelter.
Ni.Park is a Telford & Wrekin Council development and the council would be the landlord for the university building.
