Driver trapped after crashed van gets stuck under lorry

Firefighters worked for hours to release the trapped driver

A man has been taken to hospital after a crash that left his pick-up truck trapped under a lorry.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A41 near Hinstock in Shropshire at 04:40 GMT.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said it took about three hours to release the man before he was taken to Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said his injuries did not appear to be serious.

A section of the road was closed until 07:30 GMT while crews worked to free the patient.
