Shrewsbury's interactive trail for feedback on plans

An interactive trail in Shrewsbury will allow residents to feed back on a long-term transport strategy as they walk around the town centre.
The Shrewsbury Moves Town Trail kicks off a consultation into council and Shrewsbury BID (Business Improvement District) plans for the next 10 years.
The scheme aims to prioritise pedestrians, cyclists and public transport over cars.
A website outlining the changes street-by-street, external goes live on Friday.
Shrewsbury Moves, external is a joint project led by the Big Town Plan Partnership, made up of Shropshire Council, Shrewsbury Town Council and Shrewsbury BID.
Councillor Ian Nellins from Shropshire Council outlined some of the ideas, which include the introduction of traffic loops and improvements to the park and ride.
"There is a lot to consider so I would urge everyone to get involved with the consultation to make their views known," he added.
Other possibilities were a new railway station to divert traffic from the town centre and a two-way bus corridor along Dogpole.
Shrewsbury BID said its strategy would make the town "an even more appealing place" to visit and do business.
"We are urging our members to engage with this consultation to ensure their voices are heard," added executive director Seb Slater.
Town councillor Alan Mosley said the plans would reduce traffic overall.
"This strategy will enable us to take the next step... while greatly improving access to public transport, providing facilities for active travel and making our street scene much more inviting," he added.
The proposals go on display at St Mary's Church for 8 weeks from Friday until 22 March.
There will also be public drop-in sessions with experts on 31 January, 1 February and 10 February.
Shrewsbury Moves is part of wide-ranging proposals for the town which will also see the demolition of the Riverside shopping centre.
A planning application outlining a new public park at the Smithfield Riverside site was submitted to Shropshire Council in December.
