A theatre group has been awarded £35,942 by the Arts Council to fund "Drama in the Forest" workshops.

The Moonstruck Astronaut Community Theatre Company, plans to hold the events in woodland close to the Wrekin in Shropshire.

It said they would bring children and young people together to build confidence, life skills, and an appreciation of the environment.

The first of the outdoor events is due to start on 25 March.

These workshops have been running since 2021 and the group said children between 6 and twelve would enjoy sessions involving drama, movement, and music and create an outdoor play together.

More workshops are due to take place in the summer.
