Patrols of parks and public spaces in Bath city centre have been increased following a recent rise in anti-social behaviour.

A police spokesman said residents had complained about drugs, drink, vandalism and dangerous dogs.

He said officers were warning groups they saw about anti-social behaviour and seizing drugs and drink.

They have also reminded supermarkets and off-licences of their responsibilities when selling alcohol.

Pc Mark Hodder, Bath city centre's beat manager, said: "We have increased patrols in the parks and will continue until we have stopped the anti-social behaviour caused by these people.

"We will not tolerate this behaviour and are keen to talk to anyone who is affected."

Owners of out-of-control dogs would be reported, he added.
