A swan was rescued after becoming trapped on a frozen lake near Highbridge in Somerset.
The swan, which had got its right leg stuck in the ice, was spotted by a walker who said it was in a lot of distress.
A rescue team from the Burnham-On-Sea Area Rescue Boat helped to break the ice and safely release the swan.
The bird has now been taken to the Secret World Rescue Centre where it is now recovering.
A spokesman for Secret World said the cold conditions prompted them to quickly rescue the swan.
"With a night of freezing temperatures in store, it was decided to reach it as soon as possible. We were grateful for the help of the rescue boat crew," he said.
