Disruption and school closures as snow covers Somerset

Temperatures fell as low as -5C during the night
Several schools in Somerset have closed after centimetres of snow fell across many parts of the county overnight.
Some schools decided to close early as wintry conditions made roads hazardous. Bus services in Yeovil, Taunton and Weston-super-Mare have been affected.
Waste collections have been delayed as carts struggle on the untreated minor roads.
Temperatures fell as low as -5C during the night. BBC weather presenter Richard Angwin warned of more snow.
He said: "The area of snow is likely to be fragmented and the range of accumulations will be great."
He added that 10cm could fall by dawn.
Suspended services
Hazardous conditions have been reported on roads including the A303 near Yeovil. Motorists are advised to only make essential journeys.
Berry's Coaches cancelled school contract buses and all First Bus services in Yeovil are suspended.
In Taunton, most services are running at a reduced level and only on main routes, while in Weston-super-Mare services one, 8 and 14 are suspended. All others are running on main routes only.
South West Coaches has suspended services in and around the Yeovil area and from Wincanton to Shepton Mallet.
Nick Cater from Somerset Waste Partnership said people should leave their waste out and they would collect it on Monday or Tuesday.
He said he waste collection crews had been doing a lot of overtime and weekend work to try and recover from the snow earlier this month.
He added he was confident they will catch up by Christmas.
