EDF wants to build a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point

A council consultation on plans to prepare land for the building of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point has been reopened.

It comes after the applicant, EDF Energy, supplied West Somerset Council with more information.

The council said it had made a formal request for extra details to be included in the environmental statement.

The consultation is due to run until 20 May.

The response from EDF includes more information on environmental issues including transport, ecology, landscape and visual impacts, noise, vibration and air quality.

The information can be seen on the council's website and at the authority's headquarters in Williton.
