Grant for threatened libraries in Somerset
- Published
A grant of £30,000 has been created to help communities in Somerset put together proposals to run libraries which have lost their council funding.
Six libraries will have their funding stopped from September and another five will have their funding stopped from next April.
Community groups can apply for up to £5,000 each to help them put together proposals to Somerset County Council.
Opening hours will be reduced for the remaining 23 libraries from October.
The final decision for the funding cuts will be made later this month.
The grant offer is in addition to support and advice already offered to community groups.
