Work has begun on the £270m Firepool redevelopment in Taunton.

Project Taunton aims to rejuvenate the town's old cattle market site and will include shops, restaurants, homes and offices.

Builders have moved in to start the first stage - a new headquarters for waste company Viridor.

The whole scheme is one of the largest town centre renovation programmes in the south west of England and will take about 12 years to finish.
