M5 crash: Tribute concert takes place

About 100 people have taken part in a tribute concert on Weston-super-Mare's Grand Pier for those killed in the M5 crash in Somerset.

The Overtones agreed to headline the show as lorry driver Terry Brice, best friend of band member Mike Crawshaw's father, was among those who died.

Seven people died and 51 people were injured in the 34-vehicle pile-up on the M5 near Taunton on 4 November.

A minute's silence was also held as part of the concert.

The money raised will go towards the M5 memorial fund, which will go towards a memorial and charities linked to the emergency services.

Mr Crawshaw said his band had been "really thrilled" to take part.

He said: "For us to come along and get involved in the evening - to put a bit of sunshine into the evening and for them to have a good night- is really important to us to be here."

Comedian Mark Olver also took part in the concert.
