Final preparations are being put in place for the Queen's visit to Somerset on Wednesday, as part of her Diamond Jubilee Tour of the UK.

Accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen will arrive in Yeovil by train.

The royal party will tour a fayre in Yeovil and be taken to Crewkerne, via West Coker and East Chinnock.

South Somerset District Council said "there will be plenty of opportunities to catch a glimpse" of the royal party.

The first stop is the Ninesprings Country Park in Yeovil where the Queen will tour a Diamond Jubilee Fayre celebrating the area's wildlife, heritage and industry.

At 10:25 BST, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will be taken to Crewkerne passing through both West Coker and East Chinnock.

At about 10:40 BST, the party will arrive at Crewkerne Town Hall to view displays of local produce, historical items and documents.

After a short visit at Crewkerne, the royal party will be driven to Maiden Beech Academy before departing by helicopter.

A spokesperson for South Somerset District Council said: "Members of the public are encouraged to line the streets and embrace the moment with flags and all that encompasses the spirit and moment of this very special Royal visit to South Somerset."
