Norovirus closes three hospital wards at Weston General
- Published
Three wards at a hospital in Somerset have been closed due to an outbreak of the norovirus.
Members of the public have been told to stay away from Weston General Hospital unless absolutely necessary. Visitors are restricted and children under 12 will not be admitted.
The hospital has described the outbreak of the winter vomiting bug as "severe".
Wards Uphill, Berrow and Kewstoke have been closed, and restrictions are in place at least until Sunday.
The hospital said limiting visitors before Christmas is the "last thing it wanted to do", but it hoped the measures would help it clear the outbreak.
