Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust financial position probed

A watchdog has raised concerns over the financial position of Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.
It follows a visit from Monitor to Musgrove Park Hospital considering delays to day care, inpatient and outpatient services.
Monitor said it had agreed a "robust" action plan over the delays but needed to examine why the trust's financial position was "worsening".
A trust spokesman acknowledged it faced a "tough financial year".
In 2014/15 it recorded a surplus of £66,000; this financial year it said it was anticipating a budget deficit of "around £5m".
The trust said it supported Monitor's decision to look at its plans in greater detail to "see if there is any learning or improvement" needed.
Paul Streat, regional director at Monitor, said it now wanted to establish whether there was a link between the trust's finances and its efforts to tackle waiting times.
