Concerns are growing for a British teenager who failed to return from a solo trip to Morocco.

Connor Jarvis, 19, was due to return home to Bath from Marrakech on Saturday night but was not on board his flight.

Avon and Somerset Police said they were concerned for his welfare as his disappearance was out of character.

Officers have appealed for Mr Jarvis, or anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts, to get in touch.

A police spokesman said: "We now understand that while in Morocco, Connor met and spoke to a soldier who is from the Bath area. He was heading for an eight-day trip to the Atlas Mountains.

"We are keen to speak to this man who might have information to help our inquiries."

Mr Jarvis is described as white, 5ft 10in (1.78m) tall, of medium build with short, dark brown hair.

He normally wears black framed glasses and has a tattoo on his right shoulder, which is described as a tribal design made up of dots and a triangle.
