Heavy rainfall leaves Somerset Levels severely flooded

The Somerset Levels is a coastal plain that extends across the county

A coastal plain and surrounding roads have been submerged in water after a bout of severe flooding.

Heavy rainfall over the festive period has caused flooding across The Somerset Levels and roads around the nearby village of Muchelney, near Langport, have been closed.
