A woman is in hospital after being seriously hurt in a crash

A pedestrian is thought to be in a life-threatening condition after being injured in a crash with a cyclist.

Avon and Somerset Police closed Bucklands Lane in Nailsea after the collision at 12:15 BST.

The woman is currently in hospital and a man with her was also hurt, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The man on the bicycle was uninjured and remained at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "The woman's next of kin are aware and our thoughts are with them.

"Bucklands Lane is closed to traffic except for pedestrians while officers examine the scene."
