Police name teenager killed while crossing Backwell road

Police have named a teenager who died after being knocked down by a car while crossing a road.

Emma Armstrong, 18, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the collision with a black Toyota IQ3 on West Town Road, Backwell, on 28 September.

She died a few weeks later on Sunday, 15 October.

Investigating officers have released her name as they renew their appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage.

House-to-house and CCTV inquiries have also taken place as part of the investigation.

A police spokesperson said: "Her family continue to be supported by a specially trained officer and our thoughts are with them.

"The collision, which involved a black Toyota IQ3, happened at approximately 7.30pm on West Town Road.

"We are continuing to investigate the incident."
