Weston-super-Mare: Driver in hospital after police pursuit

The car crashed on Beach Road in Weston-super-Mare
A driver is in hospital in a serious but stable condition after failing to stop for police and crashing.
Officers saw a black Audi A3 moving through traffic at speed in Weston-super-Mare on Thursday at 18:45 GMT.
After failing to stop for an unmarked police car with sirens on, officers pursued the Audi along Walliscote Road onto Beach Road, where it crashed.
Avon and Somerset Police said it has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
No arrests have been made and a call for witnesses has been made to help police with the investigation.
