Two people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a three-vehicle crash on the M5.

Emergency services closed one lane of the motorway's northbound carriageway shortly before 12:30 GMT, after the collision between junction 21 (Weston-super-Mare) and junction 20 (Clevedon).

The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, police said.

The lane was reopened shortly after 14:00 and traffic has cleared.
