Three teenagers have been jailed for their involvement in a non-fatal stabbing.

Hamza Mahmoud, 19, Faisal Uriakhail, 18, and Zaeden Perkins, 18, all from Taunton, appeared at Bristol Crown Court on 15 March, after previously admitting wounding with intent.

The group stabbed a man in a park in the town on 18 February.

Judge Edward Burgess KC described the three-on-one attack as "frenzied and sustained".

The incident happened just before 15:30 GMT, in the park area between Baldwin Road and Monmouth Road.

Police and ambulance crews attended, and found the victim with injuries that were not life-threatening.

All three teenagers were charged and appeared in court the following Monday, 20 February.

Attack was 'shocking'

At Bristol Crown Court, Mahmoud was jailed for five years and three months, Uriakhail for five years and Perkins for four.

Officer in the case, DC Natalie Norman, said: "The attack happened in a residential area and must have been shocking for families living nearby.

"I hope the custodial sentences for these young adults will reassure the community how seriously the criminal justice system takes knife crime," she added.
