Four arrests in Yeovil after pharmacy prescription drugs theft

Police have arrested four people after sedatives and painkillers were stolen from a pharmacy.
Officers in an ongoing investigation into the sale of prescription-only drugs, were alerted after a pharmacy's audit showed items were missing.
Searches were carried out at homes in Yeovil where a variety of medications were seized.
A man in his 50s, a man in his 30s, a woman in her 30s and a woman in her 50s were arrested.
The older man and the woman in her 30s were arrested on suspicion of possessing a medicinal product with intent to supply, not in accordance with a prescription.
The woman in her 50s and the man in his 30s were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to sell or supply prescription-only medicine, not in accordance with a prescription.All four were later released on bail pending further enquiries.
Ch Insp Andy Pritchard from Avon and Somerset Police said they were "still in the early stages" of the overall ongoing investigation.
"The sale of prescription-only drugs without an appropriate prescription is an offence over and above the inherent risk of taking a drug without the right medical assessment," he said.
"[We] will continue to work closely with the NHS to make sure our communities are safe."
