Council bails out museums after cutting funding

The organisation which runs four of Sheffield's museums is being bailed out by the city council after running into "cash-flow problems".
Museums Sheffield had implemented pay cuts and a recruitment freeze in recent months, after the council cut its budget by £172,000.
But the authority has stepped back in to provide money after a council review found the museums were under funded.
Museums Sheffield said it was in talks with the council over the issue.
Museums Sheffield manages the city's Millennium Gallery, Weston Park, Graves Gallery and Bishops' Park.
Sheffield City Council leader Paul Scriven said: "We believe it is important to support the museums through this period.
"We are confident that over the next two months we will be able to work together and ensure the finances of Museums Sheffield are back on track.
"We will also be working with them to develop long-term proposals to ensure that the organisation can avoid similar cash-flow problems in the future."
Museums Sheffield's chief executive Nick Dodd said: "We welcome this show of support from Sheffield City Council and look forward to working with them to restore our cash-flow."
