South Yorkshire to receive millions for creative projects

Screen Yorkshire has announced nearly half of a £15m fund for creative businesses will be spent in South Yorkshire.
The body supports television, film, computer game and digital content projects across the region.
South Yorkshire is to receive 45% of the £15m, allocated by the Yorkshire Content Fund.
The remainder of the money will be spent across the rest of Yorkshire and the Humber.
'Finance always critical'
Sally Joynson, chief executive of Screen Yorkshire, said: "It's going to have a terrific impact on jobs, companies and on investment - not to mention the profile of the region.
"This is really good news for Sheffield, Rotherham and for all the other places we love doing business with."
Half of the overall budget for the region has come from the European Regional Development Fund, with the rest being matched by private sector investors on a project-by-project basis.
Sheffield-based Warp Films has been behind films such as Tyrannosaur, Submarine and Four Lions, as well as the television series This Is England.
Mark Herbert, managing director of Warp Films, said: "Finance is always a critical part of the jigsaw of getting television or film made, so this fund can only help in increasing production levels and creating jobs within Yorkshire."
The fund is now open to applications, which can be submitted through the Screen Yorkshire website.
