A project set up by TV chef Jamie Oliver has been given £80,000 to help people in Rotherham learn how to cook.

The town's Ministry of Food, which opened in 2008, has been given the money by Coalfields Regeneration Trust to help 480 people by 2013.

Oliver visited the town when filming for Channel 4, showing the community how to cook with fresh ingredients.

The social enterprise project at All Saints Square continues to give cooking advice.

Jamie's Ministry of Food provides 10-week free cooking courses to encourage people to increase their knowledge of food.

The project, which is part funded by NHS Rotherham, said the money would also support a further 30 volunteering opportunities.
