South Yorkshire Police unable to retrieve River Don body

A man's body has been found in the River Don in South Yorkshire but police said they cannot retrieve it because of dangerous conditions.

South Yorkshire Police said they were called at about 20:00 BST on Sunday after a body was spotted in the river.

The force said the high waters and strong current had meant they were unable to enter the river.

They also said debris being carried down the river near Sprotborough had made conditions extremely difficult.
