Sheffield's theatre complex has been named the UK's best outside the capital.
The Stage said Sheffield Theatres, which includes the Crucible, the Lyceum and the Studio, produced "exemplary shows" despite funding cuts.
Judges said the "quality and range of productions" made it stand out.
Chief executive Dan Bates and artistic director Daniel Evans also entered the Stage 100, a list of influential people in the performing arts.
Mr Bates said: "It helps us make the case really that we are a big complex, we produce a huge amount of work, we programme a lot of work in the Lyceum, and we have a huge loyal audience who support us throughout the year."
Actor Dominic West, also on the list, is currently starring in My Fair Lady at the Crucible.
Shakespeare's Globe was named as best London theatre of the year.
