The family of a man who died following an assault in Rotherham have said they are heartbroken at his death.
Grandfather Mushin Ahmed was attacked just off Fitzwilliam Road on Monday 10 August.
Two men from the town have already been charged with assault with intent and were remanded in custody by magistrates.
Mr Ahmed's family said he was a "gentle and charitable man" who smiled and spoke to many people.
Damien Hunt, 29, of Doncaster Road, and 21-year-old Kieran Rice, of Oakes Meadow, are due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 28 August.
'Affable person'
The family's statement said: "The family is heartbroken to have lost such a loving husband, caring father and grandfather, who was also a gentle and charitable man.
"Mushin was an affable person who smiled and spoke to everyone.
"[Mushin] was well-known throughout the town, he worked hard all his life, held high values and brought his family up with the same moral standards.
"Thank you to everyone for your prayers, support and offers of help."
Two other men, aged 29 and 24, have been bailed.
