Men charged over Sheffield city centre violence

Fighting broke out at Bloo 88 on West Street
Update 12th February 2025: On the 16th December 2022 Scott Parkin, Kieron Fairchild, Jack Hall, Harry Hinkler, Julian Lawrence, Liam Musselwhite and Reece Williams were found not guilty of violent disorder at Sheffield Crown Court. On the 29th March 2022 Dane Appleby was found not guilty of violent disorder. On the 30th March 2022 Loui Appleby was found not guilty of violent disorder. On the 13th July 2022 Reece Ellis received a suspended sentence order, 3 months suspended for 24 months. Jack Morley received a 18 month community order. Ryan Ward received a suspended sentence order, 9 months suspended for 24 months.
Police have charged 24 men in connection with violent disorder that broke out after a football derby.
Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United had played an EFL Championship match at Hillsborough on 4 March 2019.
Later that evening, at about 23:50 GMT, disorder broke out at a pub in the city centre, South Yorkshire Police said.
Several people were injured and needed hospital treatment and considerable damage was caused to Bloo 888 on West Street.
Officers said bottles and chairs were thrown during the fighting.
All 24 men are due to appear before magistrates charged with violent disorder in June.
