A murder investigation has been launched after a 21-year-old man was fatally shot at a Sheffield car wash.
Emergency services were called to the Diamond Hand Car Wash on Burngreave Road at about 18:45 BST on Tuesday.
The victim, who was in a blue BMW at the time of the attack, was taken to hospital but was later pronounced dead, South Yorkshire Police said.
Det Ch Insp Mick Hakin said the force was "determined to get answers" for the dead man's family.
The BMW was shot at "multiple" times before the assailant left the scene in a white Ford Fiesta, later found burned out in Darnall, Det Ch Insp Hakin said.
The detective said the killing had caused "shock and concern" in the local community.
"I want to reassure residents that a dedicated team of officers will be working around the clock to piece together the circumstances of what has happened and trace those responsible," he said.
"If you know something - I urge you to tell us. A family has lost a son. We are determined to get answers for them at this most horrendous time," he added.
