David Ford: Sheffield man in court and victim named in murder inquiry

A man has appeared in court charged with murder after a pedestrian was killed in a collision with a car.
David Ford, 62, died after being hit by a vehicle on Cricket Inn Road, in Park Hill, Sheffield, on Saturday.
Jermaine Richards, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Monday. He is also charged with attempted murder after a second man was injured.
Mr Richards, 31, of Wordsworth Drive, Sheffield, is next due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on 7 September.
He faces a further charge of criminal damage following an incident minutes before the alleged murder where a concierge's office was reportedly damaged at Park Hill flats.
South Yorkshire Police said it had referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to previous interactions with Mr Richards.
