Adam Clapham death: Fourth murder arrest as police name dead man

Five people have been arrested in connection with Adam Clapham's death

A South Yorkshire man whose death sparked a murder investigation has been named by police.

Adam Clapham was found unresponsive and later died on Spring Street in Rotherham at about 10:50 BST on Monday.

South Yorkshire Police said they had received calls about concerns for the 31-year-old's welfare.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday. Three other people had previously been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 31-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy arrested on Wednesday remain in custody.

A 43-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender was also still being held, South Yorkshire Police said.

Ch Supt Laura Koscikiewicz, said: "We have been conducting several inquiries in the surrounding area and there are a small number of scenes in place as our investigations continue.

"Officers remain in the area carrying out patrols, to provide reassurance to local residents."

Anyone with information about the incident has been asked to contact the South Yorkshire force.
