Firefighters have been tackling a large fire at a Sheffield recycling centre.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the blaze at a Biffa waste warehouse in Warren Street, Attercliffe, at 08:40 BST on Wednesday.
A fire service spokesperson said six fire engines were sent to the scene and crews were expected to remain at the site "for quite a few hours".
Pictures showed large piles of burning waste inside the warehouse and smoke rising from the building.
The fire service said the blaze had caused a large amount of smoke and advised people to avoid the area and keep windows and doors shut.
The spokesperson said it was possible the blaze may flare up as crews worked to clear about 400 tonnes of waste in order to tackle the fire.
Biffa said nobody had been injured and the cause of the fire was not year clear.
A spokesperson for the company added: "We would like to thank the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service who were on the scene swiftly.
"The fire is now under control and we will be carrying out a full investigation into the cause of the fire."
