A man has died after being hit by a car in Barnsley.
Officers were called to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a black Toyota Aygo at about 20:40 BST on Monday, South Yorkshire Police said.
The crash happened near the junction of Commercial Street and the A61, Sheffield Road.
The pedestrian, a 24-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and died later, police said.
The driver of the Aygo remained on scene and spoke to officers, according to a force spokesperson.
Anyone who saw the incident, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage of what happened, has been asked to get in touch with South Yorkshire Police.
