Doncaster Health Bus to raise COPD awareness

Community nurses will be in Doncaster to offer help and advice and raise awareness about COPD later.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is the name for a group of lung conditions that cause breathing difficulties.
Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) said its respiratory nurses would be onboard Doncaster's Health Bus.
It will be in the car park at Asda Carcroft between 10:00 and 15:00 GMT.
The event coincides with World COPD day which this year has the theme Breathing is Life - Act Earlier.
It aims to highlight the importance of early lung health, early diagnosis and early intervention.
COPD is a common condition that mainly affects middle-aged or older adults who smoke.
Many people do not realise they have it and breathing problems tend to get gradually worse over time and can limit people's activities.
Dawn Warner, respiratory nurse specialist at RDaSH, said: "We are using World COPD Day to raise awareness of this condition and hope that local people will call in and see us.
"We will have lots of useful advice and tips on how to manage this condition to improve quality of life."
