Land in Canklow, Rotherham, has been earmarked by the council for the £8.3m scheme
A new day centre for adults with complex needs could be built on empty council land in South Yorkshire.
The site around Warden Street and Castle Avenue in Canklow, Rotherham, was previously home to derelict housing before it was demolished.
Rotherham Council hopes to build the centre along with a sensory community garden and allotment area.
The £8.3m scheme would also provide supported living accommodation and 13 new council homes for rent.
A report states the day centre building will match the requirements of people with learning disabilities.
"The design focuses on providing a modern, state-of-the-art facility whilst providing a welcoming, calming and purpose-built environment," it reads.
Plans are set to be approved at the next council cabinet meeting on 20 November, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
