Stocksbridge man who stomped on attack victim's head jailed

A man who left his victim in a pool of blood after punching him and stomping on his head has been jailed.
Brad Spencer inflicted the injuries during an argument in Stocksbridge, Sheffield, on 10 January.
Spencer, 30, of Pot House Lane, Stocksbridge, was charged with attempted murder.
In May, he pleaded guilty to section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and was sentenced to 18 years' imprisonment at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday.
Spencer, who will have to spend at least 13 years behind bars, also faces a five-year extended licence after the judge deemed him to be a dangerous offender.
Sheffield Crown Court heard how in January this year, Spencer attacked his victim inside a property where he pushed the other man onto a sofa and pinned him against the wall by his throat.
Spencer then attacked him again outside by stomping on his head, causing a "significant head wound".
'Life-changing injuries'
South Yorkshire Police said Spencer fled the scene and asked staff in a nearby shop to call him a taxi while his victim lay on the floor unconscious.
Det Con Arron Connolly of South Yorkshire Police described Spencer's attack as "senseless, brutal and utterly horrific".
He said: "His victim is lucky to have survived and he has been left with long-lasting, life-changing injuries.
"[Spencer's] actions were not only savage but cowardly as he attempted to flee the scene of the crime with no regard or understanding of the serious injuries he had just inflicted."
