National Arboretum in Alrewas marks VJ Day

A service has been held at the National Memorial Arboretum to mark the 65th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day.

The centre, in Alrewas, Staffordshire, marked the occasion as part of its remembrance service in the Millennium Chapel.

Elsewhere, The Prince of Wales and Prime Minister David Cameron joined veterans at the Cenotaph in London.

Almost 30,000 UK lives were lost in the Far East with 12,500 dying in prisoner of war camps.
