Stoke-on-Trent potholes repaired with government grant

A £214,000 government grant has been spent on repairing potholes and resurfacing roads in Stoke-on-Trent.

The Department of Transport money was allocated to help repair the highways after severe winter weather in 2009.

Ten roads have been repaired in Tunstall, Shelton, Baddeley Edge, Sandford Hill, Trent Vale, Berry Hill, Chell, Chell Heath and Weston Coyney.

The grant freed up council funds for more emergency repairs this winter, Stoke-on-Trent City Council said.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is responsible for maintaining hundreds of miles of roads in the city, apart from the motorway, A500 and A50 trunk roads.
