Burton Albion's Patrick Ada held over alleged rape

Burton Albion footballer Patrick Ada has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape.

The Metropolitan Police said the alleged offence took place in Southwark in the early hours on Thursday.

The 27-year-old, who joined Burton Albion last week, was arrested at the club's training ground, in Staffordshire, later on Thursday.

The former Crewe Alexandra defender was still being held by police on Friday.
