Proposals to outsource children's centres in Staffordshire
- Published
Council-run nursery services in parts of Staffordshire could be outsourced under plans to save money.
Staffordshire County Council said private firms and voluntary organisations could take them on, saving the authority £800,000 a year.
None of the 54 centres would close if the proposals are approved at a meeting on 16 May, the council said.
Another option includes linking them with existing children's services in their catchment area.
The council is hoping to save more than £20m from its budget over 2012-13.
