Diamond Jubilee: Staffordshire celebrates with canal festival
- Published
A flotilla of narrowboats have been taking part in Jubilee celebrations in Staffordshire.
About 20 heritage narrowboats were involved in the Etruria Jubilee Canals Festival earlier.
The festival, now in its 20th year, regularly attracts up to 10,000 visitors over the weekend and this year featured a Jubilee tea party.
A party was also taking place in Packmoor, with the event raising money for the Donna Louise Hospice.
Organisers said they had been inspired to hold a Jubilee party after the success of a similar event last year to celebrate Prince William's wedding.
In Lichfield an open-air picnic lunch in the cathedral grounds had to be moved indoors.
Picnic blankets covered the cathedral floor while the historic building echoed to the sounds of the town crier.
A Jubilee lunch was also held at Shugborough hall, which also had an exhibition of royal memorabilia.
