David Pearsall an MBE in Staffordshire Queen's Birthday honours

The former chairman of Staffordshire police authority has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday honours list.

David Pearsall, 72, from Stafford, who chaired the authority between 2009 and 2012, has been appointed a MBE for services to the police and community.

Eric Emery, 81, who is a volunteer driver for West Midlands Ambulance Service, has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM).

Mr Emery, from Uttoxeter, has volunteered for the service since 1996.

Other people from Staffordshire recognised in the honours list include Lichfield District Councillor, Margaret Stanhope, who becomes a MBE for services to the government and local community.
