Hospital bosses said they had met with the affected patient's family

Three members of staff have been suspended after concerns were raised about care given to an elderly patient at Stafford Hospital.

Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust said they were on duty at the time of an incident on 15 November, which was "reported quickly" by nursing staff.

An "immediate investigation" was being carried out, it added.

The trust said it met the patient's family to explain what action was being taken.

Staffing has previously been an issue at the hospital, but Stafford MP Jeremy Lefroy said this was not an issue on this occasion.

"It's just simply a matter that there was one patient who was overlooked," he said.

Support Stafford Hospital campaigner Cheryl Porter said the incident was "disappointing."
