Cheadle couple seriously injured when 'run over by own car'

Two people have been seriously injured in a road accident in which they were run over by their own car.

It happened Sunday afternoon in Cheadle, Staffordshire, when the couple "appeared to have got out of their vehicle as it rolled forward," a West Midlands Ambulance spokesman said.

A man in his 20s was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

A woman, also in her 20s, was taken to the same hospital with leg injuries.
